<description><![CDATA[ Introduction: Tumbledry, India’s largest laundry and dry-cleaning chain with over 1,250 stores across 500+ cities, has taken a major step to support the growth in business of existing store and increasing count of launch of new stores. Sensing the rise in demand of the services during Sep to Mar, the company is making itself ready to fullfill the requirement of manpower that will arise during the peak season. The company has doubled its training capacity at Noida Academy to train and deploy 120 skilled manpower every month. With this, the total capacity of Noida and Bangalore training academy will become 180 Skilled manpower every month. The decision is aimed to better help and prepare the franchise partners for upcoming season.Started in February 2022, Tumbledry has trained more than 1,700 individuals through its training programs, out of which more than 1,600 have been placed at its stores across the country. Tumbledry sources uneducated men of age 18 to 25 from lesser privileged villages through various channels, including job fairs, banners, local references such as maids, security guards, and more. Their selecting criteria is just simple, a man should know one language (hindi/english/ any regional) and must have completed at least 5th grade. Once selected, trainees undergo a comprehensive 15-day training program, which includes free food and accommodation. During this intensive training, they learn essential skills such as washing, ironing, packaging, and stain removal of over 90 types of stains. Apart from skills, they also learn professional etiquettes and customer handling, making themselves ready to represent any brand. Upon completion, they emerge as skilled professionals, equipped to excel in the laundry and dry cleaning industry.The Spark That Started It AllIn its early days, Tumbledry faced significant challenges in sourcing skilled manpower for their stores. They knew it very well that apart from advanced machinery, Standard operating procedures and skilled manpower trained on these SOPs are key to delivery standard quality across the country. However they also observed that there are plethora of training academies for businesses like hospitality, saloons, schools, hospitals etc but there none such academy or training centre for the laundry and dry clean industry through which this industry can source the skilled manpower. This lack of availability originated the idea of taking the lead and establishing an inhouse academy where trainees can learn washing techniques, ironing, stain removal, packaging, and much more.Like every other business, Laundry and Dry Clean also runs on repeat customers. Even if you have the best marketing team in the world, you cannot become successful if you don’t get repeat orders. No business has ever been successful just by acquiring new customers. And Quality of service is the only hack to get repeat orders from existing customers. [India], April 11: The
official state visit of H.E.
Mr. Gabriel Boric, President of the Republic of Chile, to India
concluded in Bangalore with the signing of two strategic agreements aimed at
deepening collaboration in innovation, entrepreneurship, and start-up
ecosystems between the two nations.

During his week-long
visit, President Boric toured Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, with the final leg
of the trip culminating in a series of high-level engagements in India’s
technology capital. In Bangalore, the President visited Chaman Bhartiya School,
where he interacted with students and educators to learn about their pioneering
education practices and innovative projects.

Accompanied by a
high-level delegation comprising Chilean government officials, business
leaders, and representatives from leading tech start-ups, President Boric
participated in a roundtable discussion with key stakeholders from Karnataka’s
innovation ecosystem. Participants included senior officials from the
Department of Electronics, IT, Biotechnology, and Science &amp; Technology, as
well as leaders from incubators, accelerators, and venture capital
organizations.

A key highlight of the
visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the India SME Forum and ProChile,
Chile’s export promotion agency. The agreement aims to facilitate the exchange
of information, joint participation in events, and the promotion of
collaboration between innovation ecosystems in both countries—particularly in
the fields of biotech, climatech, healthtech, and edtech.

Mr. Vinod Kumar,
President of the India SME Forum, remarked, “This MoU formalizes the mutual
intent to enhance trade relations and foster people-to-people connections
between our two nations. Chile presents a strategic gateway for Indian
entrepreneurs into Latin American markets, while India offers Chilean start-ups
access to one of the world’s most dynamic and populous consumer bases.”

He further added, “With
over 1.2 million members, the India SME Forum is enthusiastic about pursuing
cross-border opportunities in technology, trade, investment, and
entrepreneurship in Chile.”

Mr. Ignacio Fernández,
Director General of ProChile, expressed optimism about the partnership,
stating, “We are proud to showcase not only Chilean agri-food products but also
the robust innovation and technology ecosystem we’ve built. There is immense
potential for start-ups from both nations to collaborate in addressing global
challenges such as climate change, healthcare innovation, renewable energy, and
financial technologies.”

Chile-India bilateral
trade reached an all-time high in 2023, with Chilean exports to India totaling
over USD 2.5 billion. While copper and agri-food products continue to dominate
trade, the agreements signed during the visit underscore both countries’
commitment to diversifying areas of cooperation.

President Boric also
attended the Chile-India Innovation Summit on Sunday in Bangalore. The event
brought together Minister Priyank Kharge and Dr. Ekroop Caur of the Government
of Karnataka’s Department of Electronics, IT, Biotechnology, and Science &amp;
Technology, along with business leaders from both countries. The summit
featured start-up pitch sessions and highlighted new opportunities for
bilateral innovation partnerships.

initiative aims to bridge the demand-supply gap in plant-based 
nutraceuticals, phytoceuticals, and phytopharmaceuticals while aligning 
with Herbalife’s broader innovation and sustainability
 goals.
10th February 2025, National: Herbalife,
 a premier health and wellness company, community and platform signed an
 agreement with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras to 
establish the
Herbalife-IITM Plant Cell Fermentation Technology Lab at the campus under Herbalife’s CSR initiative. The agreement signing ceremony took place at IIT Madras in the presence of
Mr. Ajay Khanna, Managing Director, Herbalife India, and Prof. Ashwin Mahalingam, Dean - Alumni &amp; Corporate Relations, IIT Madras
and other IITM representing members.
This partnership aligns with the Indian 
government&#039;s Bio-E3 policy, aimed at establishing India as a global hub 
for bio-manufacturing and advancing Prime Minister’s vision of
Atmanirbhar Bharat. The lab will serve as a catalyst for 
innovation, capacity building, and industry collaboration in the 
wellness sector while also fostering entrepreneurship.
The Centre of Excellence – Herbalife Plant Cell 
Fermentation Technology Lab, is focused on pioneering sustainable 
solutions for high-quality herbal raw materials and phytochemicals. The 
facility will be a center to produce sustainable herbal
 raw materials using plant cell fermentation technology, ensuring 
high-quality phytochemicals and drive innovation in nutraceuticals, 
cosmeceuticals, and Ayush formulations, contributing directly to the UN 
Sustainable Development Goals (SDG3 - Good Health &amp;
 Well-Being).
The collaborative effort will leverage plant cell 
technology to enable vitro cultivation of medicinal plants under 
controlled conditions, ensuring year-round availability, purity, and 
bioactive consistency. In addition to this, Advanced
 bioreactor-based scaling will facilitate large-volume production in 
minimal space, overcoming land constraints and long harvesting cycles 
associated with traditional farming and the green extraction 
technologies will drive sustainability in bioactive compound
 production.
The Plant Cell Fermentation Technology Lab predominantly has 5 key focus areas,
Innovative Research to handle R&amp;D, translational research, and blue-sky projects;
Sustainable Biomanufacturing to handle the scalable plant cell fermentation for herbal extracts;
Technology-Driven Solutions in the silico screening for phytochemical discovery and repurposing;
Conservation Efforts in the production of somatic embryos and plant materials for field cultivation of endangered medicinal species; and
Ecosystem Engagement to support hackathons as well as accelerator programs to drive innovation.
